Pavan’s passion was always centered around the natural world, primarily wood and the art of the possibility. Despite his creative calling, growing up in an Indian household where higher education was the only priority, his craft was surceased until he completed his master’s in architectural engineering.

Combining his architectural skills and artistic vision, his works range from balanced to abstract, from stunning wall hangings to freeform sculptures.  It is always the individual piece of wood that is the catalyst to the final creation. 

“I chose wood as my medium due to the uniqueness and individuality of every single piece of wood.  Each block of raw wood has a story to tell.  The vision for each piece evolves as I get to know the material.  The journey from raw material to a sculpture sometimes evolves so much from my original idea, it even surprises me.  I love when that happens”   

Pavan’s formal training is straight lines and hard edges. His work is a rebellion against the constraints of architectural design and replaced with smooth curves and soft natural features that mimic nature.
